'How to help someone experiencing mental distress'
Dawn has been a Mental service User for over 15 years, she is diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. For the past 8 years she has also been involved with services as a Service User Trainer and visiting lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire, facilitating training & teaching sessions to a variety of professional groups.
She is also a published poet. Her book 'The Ramblings of a Crazy Lady' depicts her story of living with a mental health diagnosis and her journey through mental health services.
Since June 2014 she has been employed by Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation NHS Trust as a Mental Health Peer Support Worker. Where she is able to use her 'Lived Experience' to provide hope to service users that recovery is possible and that a life worth living is achievable.
