'Bridging the gap, between education and practice'
Welcome to the UK Student Paramedic Conference 2014
‘The largest national gathering of Student Paramedics in the UK’
The 2013 conference held on Saturday 2nd November at The Fielder Centre, Hatfield, marked the first significant national event arranged for Student Paramedics. The aim was to inspire delegates to engage with CPD, by promoting a broad range of pre-hospital initiatives and to bridge the gap between education and practice.
“The most exciting thing for me was the constant challenge to keep up to date with all of the latest practice, such as ultrasound. The UK Student Paramedic Conference encourages us to be continuous learners as practitioners”.

With the theme ‘The Future of Paramedic Practice’, contemporary subjects such as; airway management, pre-hospital sepsis and the future of cardiac arrest were addressed by experts including Consultant Paramedic Mark Whitbread, University of Hertfordshire Senior Lecturer Tim Edwards and Acting Director of Quality Governance for East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, Tracy Nicholls. The keynote address delivered by Professor Andy Newton, Chair of the College of Paramedics, sought to inform delegates about the future of the Paramedic profession, a popular topic amongst both student and practising Paramedics. “If the commitment apparent at this conference, by delegates, organisers and presenters alike, is any gauge for future developments in out-of-hospital unscheduled and urgent care and the Paramedic profession in general, then things look extremely promising!”
Professor Julia Williams, Research Lead in Paramedic Science at the University of Hertfordshire.
After the unprecedented sell-out in 2013, we are delighted to announce the second UK Student Paramedic Conference 2014 - to be held on Saturday 1st November!
2014 comes with no specific theme; however the committee are seeking to provide a wide variety of stimulating topics to reflect the feedback from previous delegates and to embrace relevant and exciting contemporary Paramedic practice. We plan to provide hands-on breakaway sessions and a larger trade stand exhibition, both welcomed by the majority of delegates last year, and we are currently in the process of working very hard to source desirable speakers.
We look forward to seeing you in:
